POSITION PURPOSE/JOB FUNCTION:
Assist in the Application of approved engineering policies, practices
and programs that increase quality and reduce cost.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in the investigation of manufacturing processes, systems,
equipment and materials in terms of their impact on quality and cost.
2. Assist in the investigation of manufacturing problems and make
recommendations to resolve and/or correct such problems.
3. Apply established engineering procedures and programs to establish
manufacturing standards and methods for manpower, material and equipment
utilization.
4. Assist in the evaluation, justification, design, selection and
implementation of machines, tools and equipment that increases quality
and reduces cost.
5. Study, document and prepare evaluations of processes, purchase
supplies, materials and new equipment.
6. Review, recommend and recommend modifications to preliminary
engineering designs for the purpose of process, quality and cost.
7. Work with appropriate departments during prototype and pilot builds
to determine if product or component meets process and design
specifications. If not, investigate and recommend modifications to parts
or process which assure compliance and improvement.
8. Participate in vendor reviews, audits and certification.
9. Project implementation and start up assistance.
10. Perform other such related or similar duties as may be assigned.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's Degree required. Technical field of study.
0-2 years of experience. Experience with troubleshooting an application
or piece of equipment preferred. Experience with layout and design also
preferred.
